Adaptation of the Green Building Template designed by TerraLogos for the Maryland DNR in 2001, for implementation of green rowhouse or townhouse total rehab projects. The Template includes customizating of standard rowhouse plans, construction waste recycling plans, an energy performance evaluation, and pays special attention to selecting green interior finish materials.
Schaefer Residence:
This house, in a vibrant East Baltimore rowhouse neighborhood, was renovated using the TerraLogos "medium green" standard. It obtained 25% energy savings while using most existing features, reducing resource consumption during and after renovation. A highlight of the house, the large 4’ × 6’ skylight over the stairway was replaced with an operable, vertical (clerestory) window for energy savings without sacrificing daylight. 11×17" project sheet available here.
