Energy Tip

Are you still using an avocado green or harvest gold refrigerator?

Even if it is working fine, you should strongly consider replacing any refrigerator older than 15 years. Out of all the appliances in our homes, refrigerators use the most energy, and the new Energy Star models are considerably more efficient than the energy hogs that were made before 1990. Avoid the temptation to put the old fridge in the garage for beer & soda – it’s simply a constant energy drain. One larger Energy Star fridge is always more energy saving than 2 smaller ones.

Go to EnergyStar.gov to learn more about saving money with appliances.
